The World's Most
Advanced Room Air Cleaners for Homes |
|
|

How did Healthy Living Spaces choose
IQAir? |
|
|
|
We have been doing mold testing and indoor air
investigations in residential and commercial buildings for
several years now. During this time we have tested many air
cleaners that we found in people's homes and offices using a
laser particle counter. A laser particle counter measures the
amount of dust in the air. Typically there may be about
one-hundred thousand particles per cubic foot of air in a room.
When the particle counter is placed up to the exhaust of
an air cleaner it should read very clean. However, except for
the IQAIR, all of the air cleaners we have ever tested measured
thousands of particles coming out of the exhaust. The IQAir
reads zero, that is nothing gets out of the unit. Also, we believe
the best way to assess the effectiveness of an air cleaner is
how people feel. We have many success stories with the IQAir.
For some people it is the only thing that gives them relief from
allergies, mold problems and chemical sensitivities. But don't
take our word for it. Try it yourself. We offer a free trial. |

Does
it produce OZONE? |
|
|
|
No. Ozone is a respiratory irritant and
does not reduce the level of particles in room air. We know
because we have tested may ozone producing machines such as the
Sharper Image and EcoQeist units. We placed these units in a
small bedroom all day long and there is no difference in the
level of particles in the room air by the end of the day as
measured unsung the laser particle counter, the instrument clean
rooms use to assess the level of dust in their air. Ozone
producing machines come with a warning to contact your doctor
before using them, especially if you have asthma or respiratory
conditions. There are currently lawsuits pending against the
manufactures of ozone producing machines. If hospitals and
semiconductor manufactures could use ozone to purify the air
they would. It doesn't work. |

Does the IQAir use UV
(Ultra-violet) light? |
|
|
|
No. IQAir tried using UV and
discovered that UV breaks down the paper that the HEPA filter us
made of. Also, the amount of UV light required to kill mold
spores can not be attained. Even if UV could kill mold, dead
mold spores are still allergenic and contain toxins, so you
don't want them floating around - capturing them with the HEPA
filter is the best solution. The same goes for bacteria. Dead
bacteria contain endotoxins in the cell wall that cause people
to be sick. Killing bacteria is not the answer - it must be
captured by the HEPA filter. |

How long does it take the
IQAir to purify the air? |
|
|
|
On high speed it may take as
little as 20 minutes. |
|
|
|
Do I have to leave it on all the
time? |
|
|
|
No. We turn ours on high speed when we get home for
the first hour to clean the air then turn it down to low. At
night (we don't have allergies) we are able to turn it off. You
will want to experiment with it, trying different fan speeds for
different lengths of time until you determine how often and at
what speed you need to have it on. It is a good idea to keep it
running most of the time you are at home, as dust from the
outdoors is constantly finding its way indoors and chemicals
such as formaldehyde are constantly being out-gassed from
furniture, carpet, paint and cleaning products.
